The Home Depot Foundation helps in many unforeseen situations. However, the Foundation is also known for its ability to react quickly in cases of natural disasters. When communities are faced with weather-related crisis, The Home Depot Foundation offers immediate assistance, via our relationship with nonprofit organizations such as The Red Cross, as well as long term assistance as the community rebuilds itself. Most recently, the community of Joplin, MO was affected by a devastating tornado. During the tornado, The Home Depot lost a family member and store #3023 was destroyed. The Foundation extends its condolences to the family and friends of those lost in the tornado and has committed $1 million to assist in the rebuilding efforts of Joplin, MO as well as to rebuild store #3023.
