Celebration of Service Highlights
Since September 11, The Home Depot, The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot, the company’s associate-led volunteer force, have been on a nationwide campaign to celebrate the service and sacrifice of U.S. military veterans and their families.
‘Celebration of Service’ is a partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and The Mission Continues to work side-by-side with veterans in our community. Celebration of Service highlights between September 11 and Veterans Day (November 11) include:
- 320 service projects completed nationwide
- Over 8,870 volunteers engaged, including Home Depot associates, community members and military veterans
- $9 million in grants made to nonprofits that address the housing needs of veterans

Featured Project
During Celebration of Service, thousands of The Home Depot associates, veterans and active duty service members have volunteered to repair and renovate homes, facilities and community centers where veterans and their families live and receive services.

Grants
Each week since September 11, The Home Depot Foundation has announced grants totaling $9 million to 28 nonprofits who address the housing needs of veterans.

Supporting Celebration of Service
When customers purchased a specially-themed Home Depot gift card during Celebration of Service, five percent of the value placed on the card went to The Home Depot Foundation to support nonprofits dedicated to veterans’ housing needs. As of today, customers have purchased more than 35,000 gift cards, resulting in $240,000 donation to The Home Depot Foundation.
