SUCCESS STORY: LIVE OAK RECOVERY AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA
After Hurricane Katrina, THDF worked with the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal plain to save 655 of these community symbols. The Home Depot Foundation provided $100,000 to make the Live Oak Rescue Mission possible.  The Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain provided expertise, volunteers and administrative support for the project.
