AFFORDABLE HOUSING BUILT RESPONSIBLY

Global Green USA (GGUSA)

Global Green USA was founded in 1994 as a U.S. affiliate of Green Cross International.  Its mission is to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure world by addressing the most pressing environmental issues of our time, including climate change and resource scarcity. Global Green USA fosters sustainability by changing patterns of consumption within urban environments through two main initiatives: Green Building and Sustainable Energy. It has undertaken an ambitious program called RESCUE that focuses, in part, on shifting patterns of consumption by addressing issues of land use, energy, infill development and brownfields, open spaces and reuse/rehabilitation of homes.

The Home Depot Foundation is providing GGUSA grant support for its national Greening Affordable Housing Initiative and its Healthy Building and Smart Neighborhoods Response Team initiative in the hurricane impacted areas of New Orleans.
