Program Manager, Affordable Housing

Tim joined The Home Depot Foundation in January 2008 as affordable housing program manager. In this role, Tim oversees the Foundation’s grantee work and affordable housing initiatives, including developing program direction, partnering with nonprofit organizations to develop project proposals, reviewing grant requests and negotiating grant contracts. Tim has 12 years of experience in the affordable housing and community development fields and has worked with many of the Foundation’s national affordable housing partners.

Most recently, Tim served as executive director of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia where he helped lead the organization through the completion of a merger that involved four separate Habitat affiliates operating in Philadelphia. Prior to his work with Habitat for Humanity, Tim held executive positions with nonprofit economic and neighborhood development corporations in Ohio. As executive director of Garrett Square Economic Development Corporation, Tim coordinated the creation of a comprehensive retail development plan and marketing strategy for the local business district. While serving as program director of Northeastern Neighborhood Development Corporation, he designed community outreach strategies that increased the utilization of agency programs by 45%. Rounding out his professional experience, Tim was a member of the ParkWorks staff in Cleveland where he worked with Northeast Ohio businesses to raise awareness about waste reduction, recycling, urban forestry and stewardship of the environment.

Having a passion for the need for affordable housing solutions in the United States, Tim sits on the advisory board for Cobb Housing, Inc. in Cobb County, Georgia. A native of Canton, Ohio, he holds a masters of business administration from Cleveland State University and a bachelor of arts in mass media communications from the University of Akron. Tim is a graduate of Leadership Inc. Philadelphia and is a certified economic development professional through the National Development Council.
