  Kelly Caffarelli
President

Kelly Caffarelli joined The Home Depot Foundation soon after its creation in 2003. As executive director, she worked closely with the Board to define the Foundation’s strategic focus and mission of improving the health of local communities by supporting the development of affordable, healthy homes for working families and by planting and preserving trees in parks, schoolyards and along city streets. Today, Kelly ensures the Foundation’s strategic focus is carried out through its grant making, national partnership programs and policy work. Along with these duties, she now serves as the Foundation’s president and resides on its Board of Directors.

Kelly originally joined The Home Depot in 1999 to serve as senior corporate counsel. In that role, her responsibilities included securities, corporate governance, finance, tax and benefits issues.

Prior to The Home Depot, she was in private practice focusing on securities representation of public companies and mergers and acquisitions of both public and private companies. Kelly also clerked for Chief Judge B. Avant Edenfield in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

Kelly graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1992 and is a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, she served on both the editorial and managing boards of the Georgia Law Review. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in history and political science from Williams College in 1989.

A native of Athens, Ga., Kelly is married and has two children. She is an active member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for Community Trees and volunteers for several nonprofit organizations. Kelly was recognized as one of "10 Women Saving the Planet" by Atlanta Woman magazine (April 2005). She is a frequent speaker and author of articles on subjects including healthy communities, affordable housing and urban forestry.
